Carmile

From: Dominican Republic. Program(s) Study, Post Graduate Work Permit. Work Skills: Hospitality Manager.

Carmile came to study Hospitality Management in Canada, with an aim to getting a good job back in the Dominican Republic. During her studies she made a good circle of friends and once graduated, decided she wanted to stay a little longer and started work with a premium downtown hotel. She took to it well and is now a manager having become a permanent resident in the process.

Chang Family

From: China. Program(s) Express Entry. Work Skills: Civil Engineer.

Mr. Chang was a highly trained civil engineer in his native China, with extensive experience with building bridges. When a Canadian company offered him a position, his professional skills made him an excellent candidate as a Federal Skilled worker. The family has been in Canada now for three years and have adapted very well to Canadian life.

Panya

From: Nigeria. Program(s) Study, Post Graduate Work Permit. Work Skills: Accountancy.

Following her love of mathematics in high school, Panya had wanted to study accountancy and applied to many different schools. She was accepted at a school in a small city in Eastern Canada. While the location was not her first choice, she completed her courses while working part time, and obtained a post graduate work permit to temporarily remain and work in Canada. Her employer is pleased with her work and she’ll now be able to stay in Canada permanently, due to the combination of her study and work experience.

Mourad & Narek

From: Turkey. Program(s) Express Entry. Work Skills: Computer Programmer.

After the sad and sudden loss of his wife, Mourad reached out to several Canadian companies he’d had dealings with to see if any were hiring. He had two responses and after leaving Narek with relatives, travelled to Canada by himself for interviews. Upon his return to Turkey, both companies offered him computer programming positions, so he was able to choose and picked the one nearest to what he thought were better schools for his son Narek. Through express entry Mourad & Narek were both able to settle in Canada as permanent residents.

Jemila

From: South Africa. Program(s) Study, Post Graduate Work Permit. Work Skills: Web Designer.

Following a tragic incident, Jamila wanted to study abroad and was admitted to a Canadian college. During her schooling she made contacts in Canada doing small tasks for web companies and college friends. Following graduation, she stayed in Canada for almost 2 years with a temporary contract before returning to South Africa. After only 5 months though, she decided to return to Canada and due to her Canadian experience through school and work she was able to gain permanent residence.

Jing

From: Hong Kong. Program(s) Family Sponsorship. Work Skills: n/a.

Jing lived in Hong Kong and met a beautiful woman online. Soon the two of them were writing and calling each other almost every day, but what made meeting for the first time so difficult, was that she lived in Canada. After four months, Jing decided to come to Canada to meet his new friend. They instantly got along and after just four more visits, they decided to get married. Seven months after they applied, Jing joined his bride in Canada for their new life together.

Valentina

From: Spain. Program(s): Family Sponsorship. Work Skills: n/a.

Valentina’s daughter and her family had moved from their native Spain to Canada 12 years ago. With the recent passing of Valentina’s husband, she didn't want to live in Canada permanently, but instead wanted to come to Canada for maybe 18 months or a little longer, so she could spend some time with her grandchildren. She ended up staying almost 2 years before returning home with many happy memories in her heart.
